Looking at the Axis Display Mat ... there is an arrow that specifically goes from the "Repair" line and turns specifically into the JU-52 Training Box. Why? Reading [353.0] it seems like the only way into that box is from the Air Mat as a transfer. Or are you saying that if the JU-52 is in the Destroyed box, I can just "repair" it for 1 FP?
Also, there is an asterisk the words "1 for Major*" I can't find where the note that applies to that on the mat is. So what does that mean?
Thanks!
Doc
In TITE, only one German Air could be Repaired out of the Destroyed Box per month (unless they ever had eleven+ Destroyed--okay, that never happened). In ETO (the new rules), two German Air can be Repaired as well as a third--if Major and via the Ju 52. There will, of course, be a number of ETO Scenarios that will involve much more of Europe than TITE, increasing the potential for Destroying Air units. We are testing a new rule by which a second Plane result is "Exhausted" as well as a 3rd Plane (I just rolled triple planes today!). In rare circumstances, therefore, two Bombers can be shot down after a CAS Mission by this rule. During Inclement weather these X's are much more likely because each Support Die has a 33% chance of a Plane coming up (Red Bolt=Plane and Heavy=Blank during OV, S and EC).

· Repairing means paying Air units’ FP repair cost (1/2 FP for Minor; 1 FP for Major Air units) to move from their Faction display’s Destroyed box to any Theater’s Flown box, Damaged, where they await each turn’s normal free Aircraft Maintenance Routine to raise them up. See 342.1 for improving the readiness of Air units on the Air Display during the Repair & Recovery Step.
On the first Week of every Month, each nation can repair up to 10% (#) of its Air units in their Faction’s Destroyed box (typically, this means 1 per Month); nations whose air forces are not Hindered (342.3) can always repair up to 2 of their Destroyed Air units at this time.
Maybe I'm getting mixed up with terminology. Does "repair" usually mean to move from Destroyed to "Flown-damaged?"
Why?
[353.4] Major Air Unit Training Special Operation: During any Axis Repair & Recovery Step, the Axis player may Repair from the Destroyed box (342.1) any one (additional) German Major Air unit (only, and for the usual local 1 FP cost to receive it in that Theater). This creates more opportunities to keep the Bomber forces in the air.
So what does that mean?
See above.
