Can a fighter, which is in Reserve, actually perform a Fighter Sweep?
I see nothing in 326.3 that prohibits this. However, it seems to go against the spirit of the rules as a fighter is restricted to a range of zero (0) from a base. By performing a Sweep from its base, it can now extend 3 MORE hexes out for a total of 9 theoretical hexes.
Thanks,
Brian
Okay, that addition to the rules in blue would work. Thanks for the quick response!

Here's the news:
[352.2] Effects of Being In the Air Reserve: While in the Air Reserve, that unit:
· Cannot be selected for, nor receive Suppressed markers.
· Cannot conduct Enhanced Bombload (350.1) Missions.
· Operates as if its Range were one level shorter (e.g. Medium-Range Air units can only fly Short-Range Missions from the Air Reserve).
o Short-Range Fighter Air units can only fly Intercept Missions (326.1) from Air Bases in their Home Country (in effect, having a Range of 0),
o Short-Range Fighter units can fly Sweep Missions (326.3) over an Air Base in their Home Country (and then 3 hexes from there for its Sweep Radius, 326.2.2), AND
o Only if that Air Base is not within 6 hexes (i.e., Short Range) of an enemy Air Base. It has to be at least that far away or you cannot really consider it in the “Air Reserves.”
Huh. Interesting question. That had not occurred to me. Let me discuss ex parte with other developers...
